Annual Meetings

The Annual Meeting is the premier gathering for ornithologists in the German-speaking world—and much more than just a professional conference. It brings together science, practical experience, and a passion for birds.

In addition to academic presentations, discussions, and the general membership meeting, the program offers plenty of opportunities for exchange and socializing: a welcome evening to settle in, poster presentations over beer and pretzels, public evening lectures, a festive social evening, and a special networking event for young ornithologists.

A highlight are the field trips, led by regional experts, which take participants to the most exciting bird habitats in the host state. This combines sound science, a sense of community, and shared experiences of nature.

Participants will not only experience ornithology at the highest level but also a vibrant, open community that inspires, connects, and motivates.
