Ornithology Award
The Ornithologists’ Award is one of the DOG’s most long-standing honors. It was established in 1988 on the occasion of the 100th annual meeting and initiated by Prof. Dr. Klaus Schmidt-Koenig. It recognizes outstanding scientific work dedicated to an ornithological topic—whether through a single publication or a thematically related series of publications. The prize is endowed with €5,000 and is typically awarded every two years. It is open to researchers of all nationalities and age groups; membership in the DOG is not a requirement.
